Renovated villa in the countryside of Benissa on a 25,208 m² plot, with a separate guest house and views as far as the sea.
The renovation kept the Mediterranean character of the house, with wooden details, natural stone and arches. On the south side is a modern kitchen with an island, open to a spacious living and dining room with a fireplace. Large windows look out over inland Benissa to the coast, the Sierra de Bernia, the Sierra de Olta and the skyline of Calpe. From the kitchen you step straight onto the south-facing terrace. All bedrooms have air conditioning and a TV, and the bathrooms have electric underfloor heating. A home automation system and an alarm with cameras complete the house.
Of the 25,208 m² plot, about 5,000 m² is fenced and landscaped, with terraces on several levels around the house. In front of the villa lies a large covered terrace facing the mountains and the sea. There is a covered outdoor kitchen, a pool with a sunbathing area and an outdoor shower, and a garden with fruit trees. The pool is pre-installed for heating. The house faces south-east. There is an automatic gate and a driveway with room for several cars, and a garage sits below the villa. The property also has a 17,000-litre water tank and automatic irrigation, and a well could be added.
The villa is laid out on one level. From the living room a corridor leads to three generous double bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. At the end of the corridor is the main bedroom with bathroom, dressing room, a private lounge and its own terrace. A guest toilet and a laundry room with a door to the outside complete the house. A few metres west of the villa stands the guest house, with an open kitchen, a sitting room, a bedroom and a bathroom. Its private terrace has an awning and looks out over the Sierra de Bernia, so visitors have a place of their own.
A renovated villa on a large estate in inland Benissa, with four bedrooms in the main house and a fifth in the guest house. Outdoor life takes place on terraces at different levels, at the outdoor kitchen and around the pool.
Farming in Benissa is almost entirely dry farming, without irrigation, and tourism is now the main driver of the local economy. Benissa's neo-Gothic church of the Puríssima Xiqueta is known as the Cathedral of the Marina. The Franciscan convent from 1645 still has the look of a fortress. From the villa it is about a 10-minute drive to Calpe and its sandy beaches, and the rocky Benissa coast with its coves is less than 15 minutes away.
