Inside the home

The house has been extended and partly renovated while keeping its original character. In the spacious living room, the dry stone walls have been preserved. The roof has been fully renewed and raised to a height of 9 m, which allows an attic or extra rooms to be added later. The built area is 190 m². Double glazing keeps the rooms sheltered.

Outdoor living

The plot measures 2,900 m² and lies in a quiet setting on the edge of the village. From the grounds, the views stretch open towards the Montgó and the nature reserve behind the village. Fruit trees grow on the plot, among them a carob tree, which is highly valued in the Valencian region. There is a covered terrace, known locally as a naya, and a parking space on the property.

The home has two smaller bedrooms and two bathrooms, plus a multipurpose indoor room that can serve as a study, guest room or storage. The naya can be converted into one or even two extra bedrooms. Together with the possible attic under the raised roof, the house can be adapted step by step to what you need. Water, electricity and sewerage are already connected.

Living in Gata de Gorgos

Gata de Gorgos sits at about 78 m above sea level on the river Gorgos, with the Serra del Castellar to the south. Weaving with wicker, palm and esparto is the traditional trade of the village, and baskets, espadrilles and furniture are still sold there. Many riuraus, the traditional buildings once used to dry raisins, stand in the municipality. Jávea is about 9 km away, and Valencia and Alicante are roughly an hour by car.
