Living in Benissa

The village of Benissa sits at about 255 m above sea level, yet the municipality also has some 4 km of coast, mostly small coves and cliffs. In the village stands the neo-Gothic church of the Puríssima Xiqueta, inaugurated in 1929 and known in the region as the Cathedral of the Marina. Every Saturday a market runs from 8:00 to 13:30. The Franciscan convent, dating from 1645, still has its fortified appearance.
